Who We Are

Pack 5 is a Scouting America Cub Scout pack open to both boys and girls! We welcome all K-5 students. Indiscriminate of gender, race, or economic background, we want you to join our pack!

The Mission of Scouting: Here at Pack 5, we want to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

The 5 Aims of Cub Scouting: (in no particular order)

• Character Development

• Leadership and Life Skills

• Outdoor Skills & Awareness

• Personal Fitness

• Participatory Citizenship

Financial Assistance: Here at Pack 5, we never want financial means to be a barrier to participation.

• Pack 5 runs a (locally) famous Pancake Supper every November. Money raised helps to subsidize the cost of membership, activities, and campouts.

• Pack 5 parent volunteers are present at all University of Michigan home football games. The money that we raise from selling concessions is then passed on to fund activities for our cubs. [Please let us know if you would like to volunteer.]

•  If a scout needs a uniform, we have spare uniforms that have been passed down from past scouters.

•  If cost is a barrier to membership or to participation in a campout, please contact Elizabeth ([email protected]) or Cubmaster Greg ([email protected]) and we will work to accommodate your family's participation.

Our Leaders: “Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader.”

In joining Pack 5, you can rest assured that all of our leaders have undergone background checks, undertaken annual Safeguarding Youth Training, and have been equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide an enriching scouting experience. We work closely with our charter / scouting alumni organization to ensure that we continue to pass down the values of the Pack!
